Just a note to say thank you for your maps. My husband is delighted with them, and constantly looks at them. He's going to take the smaller one with him on walks this summer. We were both impressed by your enthusiasm for your wares, and wish you well with lots more satisfied customers.

Liz and Mike Joyce

Dear Mr Polak, Just to say how lovely the map is we bought from you back in January. We had some difficulty finding the best place for it, but we are happy where it is now and are able to show it of and teach our friends about their own surroundings. Thank you for your professional help and product.

Kind regards,

Thank you very much for the framed map and the Jeffries map I bought from you, they are very interesting and look super hanging on my wall, a real talking point. It was a pleasure doing business with you, Michael, and I know which direction to point someone if they want some maps.

What outstanding service.  Ordered my map of Yorkshire on 5th March.  It was thru my door the morning after!!!!  A very pleasant surprise in this day and age. Thank you very much. The map is outstanding.  It shows where my house was built, been a reservoir previously and a field before that, great.  Once again, thanks for the excellent service Michael. Will definitely recommend you to friends and family.

Chris Burgess, Queensbury, West Yorkshire

Mike’s reply: Thank you very much indeed for your wonderful feedback! It is always a pleasure to me to give service in the "old fashioned way". ALL my customers are of paramount importance to me, I hope you get many years of use from your map and thank you very much once again.

Thank you Michael for our wonderful map - Its really interesting to have a map of the area from when our house was built - how the landscape has changed and our house is very prominent, the area has not changed much around where we live - I always wonder what it would have been like, horse drawn carriages, clean air and rolling countryside - the map definitely shows how unpopulated the area was - thank you for introducing us to your product.

Sally Ellis, Causeway Foot, West Yorkshire

Mike's Reply: Thank you very much for your feedback and many thanks once again for your custom. Best Wishes... Mike

Letter Received : 20th January 2008

Dear Mr Polak,

I can hardly believe that it was September when you kindly provided me with the 6 inch map (sheet 260) of this area.  Almost nothing has given me more pleasure and instruction since.

I seem to remember that there was a one inch survey done in 1829 or thereabouts.  I just wonder if you have access to a copy of one those sheets which covers this area. If it isn’t too late may I offer you my very best wishes for 2008.

Yours sincerely

John Gardner, Netherton, Huddersfield

Mike’s Telephone reply: Thank you very much indeed for your letter, a pleasant surprise through the post.  The maps you are enquiring about are the David & Charles collection of the 1” O/S Maps circa 1841.  You can purchase these online at Stanford’s map shop in London.  I hope this helps and thanks once again.

Subject: map of paythorne

Dear Michael,

Just thought you may be interested ,I bought  2 maps ( from Maps of Discovery) showing Paythorne yesterday and Carholme Farm was not showing on the Jeffries edition. However on closer examination we saw that Scarham was.

Many of the local farmers refer to Carholme as "Carham" .I just thought it was the Yorkshire, Lancashire farmers dialect but..!  I suspect what is marked as "Scarham" on the map is in fact Carholme as is now!!

Regards Lorraine Rushton.

Mikes' Reply: Thank you very much indeed for your e-mail, I am positive what you say is certainly right, I don't know how I missed that, but well done for spotting it. I am going to put a client feedback and testimonial page on my website and I would be grateful if you would let me use your e-mail on it.

Look forward to receiving your reply and thanks very much once again.

Lorriane's Reply:

No problem. thanks again for the maps.can't wait to give them to my
husband.regards Lorraine Rushton.
